circumscribed annular patch with multiple follicular papules. Unlike classical CSMH, there is no hyperpigmentation and the hair pattern changes are less prominent (4). There have also been reports of patients with multiple CSMH (5). Diffuse CSMH has been described as part of the Michelintyre-baby syndrome (6). This syndrome is characterized by a combination of anomalies, such as ringed skin creases, cleft palate, epicanthal folds, hyperteleorism, malformed ears and developmental delay (6). On the basis of these criteria, we propose a clinical classi®cation of CSMH of the skin.

Frequency of malignant skin tumors in renal transplant recipients in Imam Reza hospital of Mashhad, Iran
Background: The higher frequency of malignant skin tumors is of great significance in renal transplant recipients (RTRs) who should receive immunosuppressive therapy for a long time. This study was designed to determine the frequency of malignant skin tumors in RTRs in Imam Reza Hospital, Mashhad, Iran, in 2001-2002.Method: This descriptive study was performed on 322 recipients who were examine...

Background: Long term use of immunosuppressive therapy in transplant recipients in order to prevent acute and chronic rejection increases the long term risk of cancer. This study evaluates the incidence of different organs’ cancer after renal transplantation and immunosuppressive therapy. Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of malignant tumors in renal graft recipients with more than...
متن کاملSkin lesions after renal transplantation in Shiraz University of Medical Sciences
Background an objective: Renal transplantation may be considered as the only effective long-term therapy for chronic renal failure. Better surgical techniques and recent advances in immunosuppressive therapy allows patients to survive for many years. However, cutaneous lesions (Cosmetic, infectious, pre-cancerous and neoplastic) can be a significant problem for this group of patients. This stud...
متن کاملHistopathologic evaluation of Verrucous skin lesions in renal transplant recipients
Background: Warts are common in renal allograft recipients (RAR) with reported incidence of 24% to 100%. These patients also demonstrate an accelerated malignant transformation of warts. Although in immunocompetent patients, the histology of common warts is quite predictable, this is not so in RAR. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the histopathologic findings of warty lesion...

Background: Despite advances in the medical care of renal transplant recipients which have led to an improvement in allograft survival, renal allograft rejection is still a major ob-stacle to successful organ transplantation. Understanding the mechanisms contributing to allograft rejection will be of great importance for the development of efficient antirejection strategies. Objective: The aim ...
